Goodbye Horrible Lips!

I have finally mastered my lip routine.
If you know me personally, you know that I suffer MAJOR cold sore outbreaks. No, I didn't get it by kissing a boy or touching foreign objects; I have my MOTHER to thank. I kissed her when I was little, and now I am forever cursed :(. About two months ago I got the worst outbreak I have by far ever experienced. It lasted a month and a half, leaving every jar of carmax, burt's bees, and some lipsticks 100% contaminated. Naturally I blame my little sister because let's face it, they use our shit without asking... every second of every day.. and she suffers from cold sores too. LET'S GET TO THE POINT.. end rant :)

In the shower:
I shower at night by the way.

Many of you know and have used this product. At first I hated the idea of this stuff. "Great, more reason to lick my lips.. aka more cold sores :(". Instead I decided I would exfoliate my lips the same time I exfoliate my face (once every three days in the shower!). It works out nice, and I love how it feels. Some people react to different ingredients so I was a little scared when choosing which flavor. .

So now you're thinking, "Okay my lips are REALLY freaking dry, what to do!?"

Directly after shower:
If you moisturize your face.. why not your lips? It is part of your face is it not? I use this fantastic product and consider it the staple of my lip perfection.

This stuff is heaven in a jar. You can find it pretty much anywhere [Me: Target $5.00] <-- also the cheapest I have found it. I put this on directly after showering and then again in them morning. Now instead of having my horrible working chap stick in tow, I don't even need it because my lips feel SO amazing that its considered unnecessary as of late.

BTW: Bag Balm is meant for cow utters. Seriously. I was slightly skeptical but I had so many people at work [the health field mind you] telling me to try it that I needed to buy it. Plus, the jar is HUGE, and so worth the money. I recommend it to anyone

What products do you use to keep your lips in tip top shape?

FOTD: Natural

I haven't expressed on this blog how much I actually LOVE Coastal Scents 28 Neutral Palette. The colors are so pretty, and fit my makeup personality perfect. I use their 88 Matte Palette when I feel like shaking things up a bit. Once I figure out colors I like, I find the MAC dupe and purchase it. Granted, the colors are slightly more pigmented but I feel like they stay on longer. Anyways, on with the look!

If you happen to know me, this shot was taken in my parent's nursery because it gets the best light in the morning! I am going to just use the MAC dupes since Coastal Scents names for their colors is a weird numbering system.

Mascara Craze: Too Faced LashLight

Part three of three from my shopping adventure! I picked this up at Sephora for $25.00; a little expensive, but seemed worth it. I liked the look of the brush, which to me is number one; the formula I am still trying to learn the differences of so I can better choose my mascaras. I firmly believe that drugstore mascaras work just as nice as the high end beauties; but I was already there and I like to spend away my lifesavings on stupid items.

This I think may be one of those 'stupid items'. When trying it on at home, it seems dry; and I was unsure whether or not it was actually going on. But throughout the day after applying it, there is no flaking or running and it creates a nice lash. I think I might give it a four just because of my original lack of comfort. I am actually very picky when it comes to mascaras. Before this I was using a Bare Escentuals, which was truly my lady in waiting. I used up like three tubes of that stuff; I wanted a change.. heres my 'change'.

Now, as you can see, the mascara has a mirror and a light on it that will turn on by pressing a button at the base of the applicator. I honestly did not notice it had that until Nick pointed it out. It is a nice feature, the light is pretty bright. You could pull off putting your makeup on with the lights out. If you would like to see how the mascara looks on, check out my post of the Stila Eye Kajal, I am wearing this mascara.

LinerLife: Stila Eye Kajal

I have never tried any of Stila Cosmetics products until today. This is part two of three from my shopping craze that I went on yesterday with Nick. I saw a look a long time ago it seems on MakeupByTiffanyD's youtube and when I saw it in the store I just needed to buy it.

She created such an awesome smokey eye using only a few products. It turned out so great that I made a small commitment that I would try it one day. Well, that day has come so here is my interpretation and review of the product.

The kajal I bought was in the color Sapphire. I got it at my local Sephora for $18.00, which I think is the price wherever you try to find it. I definitely want to give it a five out of five stars. The product does what you want it to do. I smudged it to create my smokey eye, but once it set.. it SET. There were no other accidental smudges throughout the day, which is nice to know that you don't have blue crap on your face when you are out and about :). Also, the color pay off is FANTASTIC; I have never had such great color transfer this includes MAC products. If you have a kajal, what do you think about it?

Here is the look I created:
MAC Soft Ochre as my Base
MAC Mylar e/s all over lid, highlight, inner corner
Kajal fanned out from base of upper lash line until satisfied.
Kajal reapplied on upper lash line
SEPHORA Eye Pencil in 085 [Sky Blue] on lower waterline
Too Faced LashLight Mascara in Black [Part3 of Shopping Craze]

Nail Polish: Katy Perry Limited Edition

Today I decided to torture my boyfriend, Nick, by going to the mall and buying girl things! :) I picked these two polishes up from JCPenney, they were buy one get one 1/2 off. There were other colors in her collection but I don't need that many sparkle polishes to get through my day so I just got "Friday Night" and "The One That Got Away".

Friday Night: It has a blue/silver tint to it. I applied it over the magenta-ish color and it took four coats for it to get to wear you see it in the picture. It went on very nicely though once I was done packing it on!

The One That Got Away: Such a beautiful color. It is a purple/pink with shimmer. This polish took two coats for it to look nice and went on smoothly as well. Not much to say, it has a nice pop; I definitely would like this for a fall color and maybe fourth of July.

FYI: I AM planning on buying Black Shatter when it comes it. Unfortunately, it is sold out everywhere I have called; hopefully, you will have a mini review on that soon.
